Romans 1:12
I am not sure how to start this, but the Lord is good! He has definately given us alot of time to do manual labor and get to know the people whom we are staying with. We painted two buildings and swept off a basketball court. We painted lines and had alot of fun bonding and getting to goof off.
There is a 16 year old boy who has blown me away how he is allowing the Lord to use him and the depth of his knowledge. He is amazing the questions he has.
Another thing that I have been encouraged about is the heart for the Uganda people. They love their people and want to reach their own people for Christ. It blows me away. There are 3 Bible students I have become very close with and they have encouraged me. The Lord has used them in mighty ways.
Romans 1:12
that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith.
I am sorry this is so short, but we only have 30 minutes on the computer. We are doing fine and the Lord is definitely teaching us and working through us here. He is amazing and the one thing He is probably to teach me the most through here is. "Iron sharpens iron as one man sharpens another." Proverbs 27:17
I love you guys,
For His glory and your joy,
Levi Johnston

Levi:
Romans 1;12 is one my favorites. Paul is telling the Romans that not only does he have something to offer the Romans; they have something for him too. That's one of the best-kept secrets of the ministry.
I've learned so much from the people that I have "taught". That includes the Tim-Team!
Glad to hear that you're reaping some of that reward.

Hey buddy! Man, oh man! I am so jealous that you got to spend 10 days with Natalie! I talked to her and she said things were going well. Thanks for the update. Please write more when you get a chance...or just save stories so you can tell me in our new place! :) Praying for you! Love you, dude!
Levi,
I'm so excited now that I've figured out how to comment! It is so exciting to hear about your experiences. Just wanted you to know that We have been praying for your strength, safety and your continued passion as God continues to use you as a vessel on behalf of the rest of us Christians. Thank you so much for making the sacrifices that you have so that others may know the good news! (We haven't forgotten to keep praying for your bag as well, ha).
I received an e-mail from one of my girlfriends today that showed a picture of a small famine stricken child crawling toward a UN food camp with a vulture now far away just waiting for him not to make it. I thought of you immediately and how mightily you are being used. I appreciate it so much. You are amazing. To God be the glory! Oh, by the way we have our new Sr. Pastor in place. Praise God! Also, today is Jacob's b-day - 17!!
Well, sweetheart, although your half a world away, your still very near to us in our hearts and our prayers. We love you so much and look forward to your new update, but most of all to see your sweet face again and hear the extended version!
My Wonderful Son, I cannot even dream or imagine what you must be experiencing. When I did not hear that you and the team had arrived safely in Uganda (no info for 6 days), I was so worried (that's stating it mildly, just ask Monica). I know as your statement to me before you left; that whatever happens is meant to happen (still I'm your mom). It is wonderful as your mission continues, knowing that you are receiving such magnificent and exciting spiritual growth from the Lord. With each word you share with us I feel such growing joy, love and commitment from you that I can barely speak. Since you are a part of me and you are sharing yourself with the entire world I am so full of hope and love for those that have touched your (and my) heart. I can't hardly wait to hold you in my arms and look into yours eyes to see and feel the love you have for your faith. My prayers are always with you. You continue to be my "HERO." When you were going off to kindergarten you looked up at me and I was trying not to cry you said "Momma don't cry, I have to learn how to read today." I had no earthly idea that one day you would be half way around the world sharing yourself and Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Who knew? HE did! I love you dearly. mom
Levi,
Your mom called me after she saw my comment and we chatted a while. I learned that I could comment more than once per blog. After I got off the phone with her I began to comment again and the electricity shut off completely. It was long enough we began to wonder if it was coming back on today. Of course there's a storm brewing. At first I began to get angry because I lost my entire comment and then it hit me like a ton of bricks. How selfish of me to take for granted the priviledge of having electricity much less becoming angered at the inconvenience of not having it! I'm sure many whom you've seen would dance with joy to be so inconvenienced. Yourself as well- who knows when you'll be able to read this. We're acting on your behalf back here in the states by watching Michael Jordan highlights, some of which the boys had never seen - the old Sunday after church gams! Before their time. I don't mention this to rub it in but they are pretty stinkin cool!
I pray you continue to be blessed, your leg continues to heal, others cont. to see Jesus in you as He fills you with His Holy Spirit to equip you!
Much love!!
Hi!
Can you tell I miss you? That scripture you quoted about our faith encouraging one another is just what I needed today! Thanks. There seems to be some dissension brewing in our church about our new Pastor and it is breaking my heart. Thanks. See you are still ministering at home. I need your prayers to stay focused. I appreciate you. Love you.
Hey,
Just gott off the phone with you and look at the Proverb I read in today's reading - 25:25 Like cold water to a weary soul is good news from a distan land.
Amen! Thanks so much for the ray of sunshine. You're in my heart daily!
I just received the text message that you have arrived safely in Brazil. I am so sorry we had bad connections on the telephone, as I love to hear from you and I am amazed by the stories you share. I am anticipating your next blog. Let me know if you need anything. Enjoy your adventure. mom
Levi...I'm so jealous of the experiences you guys are having...camp is great, but my heart is out with you guys. I love each text Sarah sends me or the messages I receive that you guys have arrived safely. It will be great to sit down and hear any stories you want to share when you arrive back here. I'm praying for you guys as you are finishing up over the next few weeks and will be re-entering life here. I would challenge you guys to begin praying about what re-entry to your 'normal' life here will be like. love you guys!! monica
Levi, just a short note to let you know that you are in my prayers and on my mind. I have worked the last two weekends and I will work this one also. Because if I stay real busy I don't seem to worry as much about you. I have been saving all the emails i have received from well-wishers and prayer-partners. I love and miss you so. mom
Hey,
What's up with the update? I'm just catching on to this blog business and you go and change it on me. I thought there would be new stuff. The email was great but I'm taking it that you haven't had time enough to fill us in on the new location yet? I guess I'll just have to check daily and say hi in the process, huh? This will be short because Alex is preparing for his mission trip to Denver. He leaves tonight at midnight. Don't ask me why, that's just how they've planned. The distance pales in comparison to yours but the heart is equally ambitious to glorify God. There seems to be a special blessing in knowing the time you've spent making games, curriculum etc. will be used outside the local area. I can only imagine what you must be feeling. I hope our new Pastor will organize a mission trip soon. He really emphasizes missions. Uncle Gene and Aunt Diane are coming in this weekend. We are going to your cousin Janet's for her b-day tomorrow. She's so excited. I hope Gene is going to persue the relationship with her and his granddaughter Chelsea. It's amazing to see God working to develop a good thing out of this unfortunate set of circumstances. His knowledge and power are uncomprehendable to me - the way he knows the hearts of all simultaneously at all times. I'm sure as you embrace the concept of how truly enormous our world is it's especially amazing. Even more unbelievable is the fact that He already has a plan worked out for each of us. What an administrator, ha.
Well kiddo, I'm gonna make sure my little missionary hasn't forgotten to pack toothepaste or any of the luxuries we consider the essentials.
We love you and are continuing to praise God for how He's using you. Please join us in prayer for Alex as well. Thanks sweety!
